The Port City of Stormreach, a fascinating and bustling mixture of people within the otherwise mysterious land of Xen’drik! The district that should be of most interest to Zam’dul is Marketplace, of course! It is here where many incredible wares have once again been collected for viewing pleasure and purchasing potential. Please, stop by and observe what new goods there are to offer!
Author’s Note: I’m done hosting the RPG Blog Carnival, at least for next year. But, I still wanna participate in others’ themes! Anyway, I got inspired by reading through various bits of 3E Era Eberron books and took a number of creative liberties. Zam’dul returns once more, this time to Khorvaire! Also, big thanks to Catilus and the D&D Fantasy Art page on Facebook for some evil inspiration for one of the items! Though, tales from Fafhrd and the Gray Mouser were also an inspiration. Also, yes, I’m guilty of reprinting ideas. But, a lot of them fit Eberron quite well. That said, I hope some of my ideas don’t mutilate canon too much…
As the fog begins to roll in, a comforting light barely breaches the blanket dead ahead. A vardo wagon sits idly, alongside a crackling fire pit. One lone man clad in ornate robes and a ceramic plate covering his head beckons you over. His body language seems friendly, but he is clearly interested in business. A quick wave of an arm showcases all means of strange and wondrous trinkets to behold. The cloaked humanoid shape picks itself up, addressing the party, “Ah, well met! All of you seek to fight off the legions of the damned? Surely, you are in need of proper supplies. You are fortunate to stumble upon this traveling merchant!”, hoarsely croaks the muffled shape through his sculpted helmet.
Author’s Note: While Castlevania is more action-horror, it’s still very much part of the history of horror gaming. One could argue the early entries are a proto-survival horror too! Plus, there’s the classic fiasco of Konami supposedly taking from TSR for their box art. In general, Konami sucks and will probably always suck (unless some day they magically don’t), but we can still appreciate the classic franchise. While this one focuses on the first game, fourth game and Symphony (because those are my favorites, I know… original); I might come back and do some items based on other titles at some point… not just the most popular ones. So with that, here are a couple of items that pay homage to the franchise! Enjoy and happy vampire hunting! Also, I’m aware I reposted the solomon seal.
The Rock of Bral. Within the endless void of Wildspace, lies a cosmopolitan hub upon a still massive rock. This sprawling city within allows for almost any form of trade and meeting, as long as you stay low. Imports from through fantastic space have their way of ending up here, goods from all sorts of Crystal Spheres and demiplanes alike! Within the many markets, there are many strange and wonderful faces. One such is one you have met before!
“Ah, old friends of Zam’dul!” exclaims a helmet wearing man in monk’s robes. The stringy being gleefully approaches the team. “I assure you, these new wares will be of utmost interest. Recurring guests always get exclusive first looks at new goods. Please, come over. Please, look!”
Author’s Note: I’m back! Things have kind of sucked. None the less, I’m eager to return to things. However, Planescape and Spelljammer make me happy. So, time to return to what I love! Also, I’m returning to magitech as well as drugs! … Making stats for fiction drugs, that is.
“Zam’dul is closing up shop for the great bazaar. Do hurry, the fumes of these locomotive devices are quite sickening. Search at your heart’s desire, but do be quick. And also, do be careful. Questions are welcome and can very well save your life!”
Zam’Dul returns once again to unleash a wide variety of fantastic artifacts, contraptions and concoctions sure to amaze and bewilder.
Author’s Note: I had some item ideas that I couldn’t fit in the prior items post, so they’re here instead! Also, I didn’t have the time to finish my one post for DM’s Guild. So, it is unfortunately delayed a smidge. All I’ll say is that it is a conversion of one of the few 4th Edition modules I really enjoyed playing with quite a few years ago. Despite all the guff I give 4E, it certainly had its moments. And for that reason, I’m “reanimating” it for D&D 5E! Once it’s available, hopefully you all check it out!

Once again, you find yourself in a familiar store. However, everything looks chrome… very chrome. It’s sleek, it’s bright, everything looks angular. Strange lights illuminate the silver shaded corridor leading to a somewhat familiar cashier stand. Instead of the lovable traveling monk is some kind of mechanical humanoid. Components grind and chirp as it takes notice to you. “Designation: GREETINGS! Operation: SALES, X = Promotion, go to X. What items are you seeking today, Occupation: Adventurers?” The illuminated metal humanoid seems to be ushering you around the renovated shop. “The specialty of Location: Bizarre Bazaar is adventure equipment, mostly involving arms and armory. DISCLAIMER: Some items are inherently restricted and will require proper documentation in order to receive them. Items can be delivered to a proper base of operations, if need be. Do any Ocupation: Adventurers have any inquiries?”
Author’s Note: Time marches on, even for Zam’Dul! I’m back doing one of my favorite segments. This time, I’m doing a much needed update to tech items and magitech! Here is an assortment of techno items from past and present! Also, these operate similarly to enchanted magical items and contain similar properties as a result. Keep a look out for scattered pop culture references… which are revealed in the tags. Also, this is one of my longer ones!

Even during your travels through the rather alien hub known as Sigil, your eyes latch onto a few familiar sights; goods and magicks from your prime material, creatures and cultures you have encountered in your travels and one very familiar and eager merchant that seems to follow you wherever you go. Zam’dul too has seemed to appear in this fantastical city of doors.
“Hoohoohoo, traveler! Zam’dul knows you to be an excellent customer! Fear not, there is no stalking happening here, but simply travel to the places that adventurers go to! As always, wares find their way to Zam’dul and prices remain fair. Plus, a rather intriguing guild known as “The Fated” seem to have Zam’Dul’s interests in mind, should ruffians appear. In the meantime, please sit upon a meditative cushion. It is fluffed for long term discussions over philosophies and trading.”
