Unification. Usually, this concept is seen as a positive. Coming together for a common cause. However, not all things use it for the betterment of all life. Some use it for the betterment of themselves, sometimes to literally propagate themselves; an all out cosmic domination campaign. For survivors sane enough to resist its curse, they will recant tales of an entity more than capable of unraveling all reality… and rebuilding it in a gruesome image.
Despite hailing from some alien dimension, accessed through planar loopholes and demiplanes, this entity is not driven by chaos or randomness, as we might assume. Scholars believe that this thing has taken interest in our takes on law, order and of course unity. However, it strives to perfect it. To material plane minds, the result is a sickening perversion that inspires madness and revulsion.
Author’s Note: The culmination of all sorts of cosmic and body horror. Here are a few powerful creatures that could make for some truly horrifying end game baddies, short of an elder god itself. Mix a little Dark Souls, Halo, Innistrad and Warhammer 40K and you have these abominations. Also, I realized that my homage to Hanweir is quite similar to Kor-Artificer’s. Great minds think alike, I guess. Either way, I can certainly say that I’ve created one of he most horrifying things I can imagine. All for a part of the Unity!
Good crew. I address you all because we are about to embark on a journey that is likely to rend your minds and tear at your souls, should you stop being pure of heart and sound of mind. Stay close and my allies will protect you. Tonight, we discover the source of the soul-draining plague! We descend into the land of fire and fell sorcery, Gehenna! – Lucien, an angel-blooded aasimar paladin, captain of The Indefatigable.
The planes are ever rife with mystery and wonder, just as they are with conspiracy and horror. And its inhabitants are equally curious beings, incarnate representations of the very domains, dimensions and demiplanes whence they came. Many creatures are born with a purpose, while others came into being from circumstance. A mixture of creatures of destiny and lost souls of chance.
Author’s Note: Plane-Jammer stuff is back! This time, more monsters. As always, I love coming up with all sorts of downright bizarre creatures to help and hinder your heroes. This time, it’s one half trip to Wildspace, one half trip to The Bleak Eternity of Gehenna.
The Rock of Bral. Within the endless void of Wildspace, lies a cosmopolitan hub upon a still massive rock. This sprawling city within allows for almost any form of trade and meeting, as long as you stay low. Imports from through fantastic space have their way of ending up here, goods from all sorts of Crystal Spheres and demiplanes alike! Within the many markets, there are many strange and wonderful faces. One such is one you have met before!
“Ah, old friends of Zam’dul!” exclaims a helmet wearing man in monk’s robes. The stringy being gleefully approaches the team. “I assure you, these new wares will be of utmost interest. Recurring guests always get exclusive first looks at new goods. Please, come over. Please, look!”
Author’s Note: I’m back! Things have kind of sucked. None the less, I’m eager to return to things. However, Planescape and Spelljammer make me happy. So, time to return to what I love! Also, I’m returning to magitech as well as drugs! … Making stats for fiction drugs, that is.
Countless realms beyond the mere mortal coil. Such a sight, inspiring and breathtaking! And here we are, mere dots in the vast canvas of known reality. Take in these moments, lest the grandeur of the planes overtake you. I was once like you, locked to just one possibility. There are far too many to count though, one needn’t bother trying. Now, let us begin! Also, don’t get lost… You’ll never find your way home. – Garrick, traveling bard
The Planes. They’ve always been a topic that greatly fascinated me since I first picked up The Manual of the Planes, many years ago. Sure, that copy of the classic AD&D Tome was no where near “new” by then, but it was a treasure trove unlike what my young mind was ever exposed to. And like with the quote above, I haven’t looked back since. Sure, I love nothing more than more down-to-earth stories, especially the grittier ones! But, I always find myself yearning to explore countless reaches beyond. Maybe it’s my enjoyment of stuff like Star Wars (Deep Lore/Expanded Universe very much included) or the like, who knows?
Let’s cut to the chase. I enjoy giving myself general themes to play around with. It spurs on my own creativity and helps keep a general focus while I tinker and craft. So, let’s go back to the planes beyond once more! Who knows, we might make a few new fascinating friends along the way!
Author’s Note: I managed to “refuel” whatever fire was missing from this page for a while. So, let’s get back into the swing of things, huh?

Well, the past month or two haven’t been too easy for me, to say the least. Without intended, I basically went on hiatus for pretty much a month. There’s been a lot going on. Quite frankly, I haven’t really had my heart in the page for a little bit. This isn’t anything against my readership really, mostly with myself. As always, I’m looking for ways to improve. This isn’t just for the games that I love, mind you. Despite my frequent blinking out, as well as older pages vanishing (and sometimes mysteriously teleporting onto a semi-private Patreon workbench, like some Ravenloft domain plucked from the Material Plane), I want to come back as often as I can to create and provide all sorts of material and ideas. I do this because of the games and the communities I love. As always, thanks for reading. With any luck, you will see more of me very soon.
