Quori – The Dark Dreams of Dal Quor (Part 2)

“Wrap your troubles in dreams, dream your troubles away!”

More horrors of Dol Quar, the Realm of Dreams, await those who connect to it beyond the wall of sleep!  Some Quori rival and perhaps exceed the Dreaming Dark in terms of sheer power and deadly force of will.  The evil of these creatures is not to be tested, unless you’re willing to lose your body or mind… or both.  If you thought the first batch were threatening, you have seen nothing yet.  Here’s the second part of my Quori conversion.

Soul Rending. The target of a successful Ghostly Touch or Swarming Slam attack must immediately succeed a DC 22 Wisdom saving throw or suffer the effects of a Confusion spell (auto concentrated), saving until successful or until the effect’s duration ends. Any target killed while under this effect is consumed, with terrified eyes being added to the Kalaraq’s endless mass as the only reminder. In addition, the Quori may take the form of a victim it has killed with Soul Rending. It has advantage on all checks to impersonate and disguise itself as said victim. Starting or stopping this disguise is a free action.

Spying Eye. At the cost of 1 hit die worth of hit points, the Quori may detach one of its eyes which can independently fly and monitor its surroundings. This acts as a scrying like effect. Upon the eye returning, it regains the hit points it lost from this ability.

Swam of Eyes. As an action, the quori can turn into a swarm of eyeballs and back. The swarm remains large in size, filled with countless tiny sized eyes.

ACTIONS

Multiattack. The Quori can make up to 2 attacks.

Mental Seed. (Recharge 6). Ranged Magic Attack: +12 to hit, ranged 30 ft., one target. Hit: 36 (6d8+6) psychic damage. The target is dominated. They must succeed a DC 22 Wisdom saving throw at the end of their turn or continue to be dominated.

Psychic Crash. (Recharge 6). Ranged Magic Attack: +12 to hit, ranged 60 ft., one target. Hit: 114 (18d10+6) psychic damage.

Kalaraq are among the leaders and shakers of the Quori, next to the Dreaming Dark’s greatest. Their presence on the mortal realm means either a mission of absolute importance or the end of the world. Describable as a mass of deranged eyeballs wrapped in flame-like energy, this Quori in particular is considerably the most horrifying. The sheer amount of torment they can unleash greatly surpasses the rest of their legions.
